Privacy policy

This page explains what information Billfo keeps when you use the app, why we keep it, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

• Your account: email address and password (stored scrambled, never readable by us).
• Your business details: name, GSTIN, address, phone and logo, if you add them.
• The records you enter: bills, parties, items, stock, payments, expenses and staff.
• Payment details for paid plans are handled by our payment partner. We never see your card or UPI PIN.
• Basic technical logs (time, page, error codes) so we can fix problems.
• Website visits: only if you tap Accept on the cookie notice, your browser keeps a random visitor code (in its local storage). We record which public pages you open, where you came from (for example Google), your device type and your approximate city. We do not store your IP address. If you later send the “Talk to us” form or sign up, we may link these visits to your enquiry so our team can help you better. Tap Decline and nothing is recorded.
• The “Talk to us” form: the name, mobile number, email and message you type, used only to reply to you.
• Which version of the app each device runs: when you are signed in, your browser or phone keeps a random device code (in its local storage, not a cookie) and sends it with the app version, whether it is the website or the phone app, and the first and last time it was seen. This is linked to your account. It is kept while your account exists and is deleted when your account is deleted.

Why we use it

• To run the app: show your records, make bills and reports, and keep you signed in.
• To send emails you ask for, such as password reset links.
• To see which app version a device is running, so we can tell you when to update and help when something does not work.
• To bill paid plans and keep tax records the law requires.

We do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.

Who else sees it

Only the services that run Billfo for us: our hosting and database providers, and our payment partner for payments. Your customers see only the bills you choose to send them.

Cookies

We use cookies only to keep you signed in and remember your settings, such as the colour theme.

Your choices

• You can download your lists (such as sales, parties and items) as spreadsheet files from the app.
• You can ask us to correct or delete your account and data using the contact details below.
